How I'll work with you

Organising everything for a wedding can be stressful, I think everyone knows that. I want to do my best to reduce the stress around my part by being totally transparent with you about my process and what it will include.

First Contact

However you get in touch with me the first step in the process will be a no obligation 30-45 minute 'chemistry' chat. Not talking about the periodic table but a chance for you to have a chat with me, ask any questions and most importantly get a sense of whether I'm a good match for you and what you want. This is typically done online but if we're close enough then I'm always happy to meet up in person :)

We can also discuss some of the key logistics like availability etc.

Choosing me

Once we've met you can go away and have a chat about whether you'd like to use me. I never put any pressure on people, this is an important choice and if you'd like to ask more after you've had a think I'm always keen to help.

If you do decide to use me that's great! At this point you can make a booking and reserve your date.

In order to reserve your date I will take a non-refundable deposit - more on that in the money bit directly below!

As soon as that's recieved you'll get my booking pack which will contain all sorts of useful info to help with your ceremony such as ideas for symbolic actions or commitments or readings. Don't worry if any of those don't mean anything to you now. That's exactly what the pack is for!

The money bit!

My ceremonies for 2023 start at £750 depending on the specific requirements of your ceremony. I will give you a specific quote as a follow up to our chemistry meeting.

Payment comes in the following stages:

  1.  A non-refundable deposit to secure your date = £150

  2. A second payment of half the remaining amount upon delivery of the first draft of your ceremony script (typically a few months before your ceremony)

  3. A final payment of the other half of the remaining amount 2 weeks before your ceremony date.

Writing your ceremony

After I recieve your deposit I will get in touch to book a slot to interview you. This interview is usually a couple of hours long and is vital to making your ceremony unique to you.

The interview is a fun chance to tell me your story so that I can in turn share it with your guests and tailor your ceremony to you.

I then go away well equipped to start the first draft of your ceremony! There may be some more messages back and forth about details but that's most of the information gathering I'll need to do.

I'll write the first draft of your ceremony and send that out to you in an agreed timescale.

From draft to 'day of'

Once you've had the first draft you can come back to me with any feedback or notes. This is really important because it's your ceremony and it should be right for you.

I will do any redrafting needed and return to you again if necessary. It's worth noting that this is normally the point at which major changes will be locked out. I will of course remain as flexible as possible but firming up your script means I can practice it and make sure it's all ready to be at it's best for your big day!

We'll stay in touch throughout the process but the next big moment is the wedding rehearsal which we will typically arrange for the day before the ceremony itself.

The main event!

On the day of your wedding I'll be there with plenty of time to spare to get setup and make sure everything is ready. I only take one ceremony per day so you'll have my full attention.

Every ceremony has it's foibles and unique moments which you'll remember forever. That's one reason I got into this business and I can't wait to make those incredible moments happen for you.

Once the ceremony's over and the 'I do's' have been done I'll make sure to see you before I leave. You'll also recieve a PDF presentation copy of your wedding script as a momento. I can also arrange for a nicely printed version if you'd like one at extra cost but I like to leave that option up to you.
